About

I identify as a woman and as a shape shifter who takes many forms including: Chinese Medicine Doctor, Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Yoga Therapist, Bodyworker, Health Activist, Surfer, Witch, and Mystic. Beyond all these identities, I am spirit manifested in a human body.

I believe that by reconnecting with our bodies and with the earth we can heal what is holding us back from our true nature and radiant health.

As a practitioner of integrative medicine, I would like to respectfully acknowledge that I am a settler born on unceded traditional territory of the Coast Salish First nations, specifically the Pentlatch people, on Hornby Island.

I currently reside on the unceded traditional territories of the Tla-o-qui-aht and Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ nations, commonly referred to as Tofino and Ucluelet. My heritage encompasses Scottish, Irish, English, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Scandinavian, German, and French ancestry. I use the pronouns she/her.

Growing up surrounded by nature and community, I developed a grounded understanding of the body-mind connection and integrative medicine. Over the years, I have enhanced my knowledge and tools by exploring different healing modalities across diverse cultures and traditions. Today, my medicine basket allows me to offer a holistic approach to my patients.

I have a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diploma from Pacific Rim College. I am a Registered Chinese Medicine Doctor, Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, and Acupuncturist (Dr. TCM, R.TCM.P, R.Ac). My practice focuses on hormonal balance, digestion, mental health, pain, and trauma. I incorporate Upledger CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release as an integral part of my practice.

Furthermore, I am an E-RYT-500 Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher with additional credentials as a YACEP continuing education provider and C-IAYT Yoga Therapist. With fifteen years of experience leading group classes and workshops, I offer various yoga practices, including vinyasa, hatha, yin, restorative, pre-natal, and yoga nidra.

Additionally, I earned my Massage diploma from the California Holistic Institute of Therapeutic Massage and integrate Thai Massage, Reiki, Swedish Relaxation, Lomi Lomi, Tui Na, CranioSacral Therapy, and Acupressure into each massage treatment. My approach combines my knowledge and intuition to offer personalized therapeutic treatments.

Outside my practice, I enjoy dancing, stargazing, exploring the natural world, creating culinary delights, practicing yoga, and surfing. My work has been a devotion to my own self-discovery and inner healing. I remain committed to revealing blockages that impede my full expression of the most authentic self.

I invite you to join me in aligning with the cycles of nature, freeing your energy, and re-balancing your life to reclaim your vitality and unearth your true nature.

With gratitude and care,
Melody
