Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine

I specialize in CranioSacral Therapy I'm passionate about the healing power of CranioSacral Therapy, offering SomatoEmotional Release as a core element of my integrative medicine practice.

As a practitioner I do not look to treat a disease itself. I have been taught to treat a whole person, listening with all of my senses to find patterns and treat what could use assistance in realignment. Then one’s natural healing capacity has the space to follow it’s innate intelligence.

I see this process as alchemical and deeply rooted in the spiritual. What Chinese medicine calls Shen (heart-mind-spirit-consciousness) resides in the heart and is stored in the blood circulating through each of us, is a central foundation to healing in the body. This transformational practice of medicine never ceases to amaze me and wake me up to the power of human potential, when given the right conditions. I am in awe daily.

Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine have been refined for the past 5000 years with many lineages and traditional teachings; to the present day integrating elements of biomedical knowledge.

Acupuncture stimulates the balance and flow of Qi that is considered essential to health. When the body is vital, Qi flows smoothly through the meridians that make up a network of pathways or channels throughout the entire body. When the flow of Qi is deficient or obstructed it may be susceptible to illness.

Based on the foundation of yin & yang, acupuncture treats both symptoms and the root causes of a patient’s illness or disharmony. Acupuncture uses the five elements and eight principles to diagnose and treat imbalances in the meridians and internal organs.

Channel Flow Yoga

This unique style of yoga is rooted in the foundations of Vinyasa and Yin yoga interwoven with the teachings of Chinese medicine’s channel and organ theory. A balancing sequence of fluid and active (yang) postures with subtle longer held (yin) postures are within each practice. Each class facilitates movement, breath awareness and intention to unwind blockages of tension from the muscles, fascia, organs, and energy channels. This practice offers space for the mind and an opportunity to get a felt sense experience the movement of Qi (energy) flowing harmoniously within. Intuitive movements are encouraged to honour the wisdom of the inner physician (or inner knowing) as well as one’s stage of life, female menstrual phase, and present moment state. Classes are seasonally aligned to harmonize with nature.

Massage

The use of conscious touch and mindful techniques including; Swedish Relaxation, Thai Massage, Reiki, Lomi Lomi, Tui Na, CranioSacral Therapy and Acupressure invite energy and blood flow to places of tension. A full body unifying modality that serves to release, restore, and replenish.

Through a balance of knowledge and intuition I work to create an individualized and therapeutic treatment. I see massage as an opportunity to become centered in your body. In this state your nervous system can restore and healing can occur. From this receptive place one can experience relief from blocked energy and adhered body tissues.

FEMININE EMBODIMENT MASSAGE

A full body massage including the abdomen and breasts. The gentle application of light pressure can activate many acupressure points and encourage optimal internal organ function in these regions of the body. In many cultural medicine traditions, a full body massage includes these areas of the body. In the western world, we tend to take this out of the treatment, but it can be very beneficial to move blocked energy. Especially for reproductive, hormonal, digestive, surgery recovery, and menstrual cycle issues. The use of essential oils is an optional addition to the treatment to open the senses and center oneself in the body.

Feminine Embodiment Massage — 60min / $130
Feminine Embodiment Massage — 90min / $160

This is for women working with hormonal, menstrual, digestive, and fertility dis-harmonies. A gentle and therapeutic treatment on the region of the belly, hips and lower back with warm oil and hands on touch to increase circulation to pelvic, reproductive, and digestive organs. The intention of this massage is to increase blood and fluid flow to encourage the body to release stuck energy that may be held in the organs and tissues. For PMS symptoms it is suggested to schedule an appointment the week before your menstruation. For fertility best to schedule around ovulation and for digestion schedule anytime.
